I thought perhaps this would be an easy fix, so I removed the unnecessary stitching to find large holes in underlying fabric from what appears to be more than one attempt at hand-stitching the straps to the bodice area.. click here As such, after I removed the stitching, the dress hung properly on my body, BUT now there are needle holes in the underlying fabric that now appear to be tiny black dots stretched unevenly across my chest. Due to the solid color of the fabric and the way light works, the damage doesn't appear in photos - despite my best efforts at photographing it in both the before and after states, but my husband, who wears glasses, could see the unevenness before I removed the stitches, and can now see the damage after the hand stitching was removed - from across the room..
